Honda New Pricing – Tariff Reduction

by Auto Professionals

Honda Australia has announced that it will pass on the savings due to revised import duties applying to many of its range of new cars.  The new pricing takes effect immediately, a full thirty days before the Australian Federal Government’s tariff reduction on imported passenger cars, scheduled for January 1st, 2010.   The tariff reduction will range from 5 to 10 per cent, which translates to savings of between $1,500 and $3,000 from the R.R.P. of Honda models imported from Japan and the UK.  Honda Australia already have a well-established reputation int the industry for affordable new cars that provide cost-efficient motoring, but have seized the opportunity to promote the Honda range’s affordability even further with this initiative.

A Honda Australian spokesman, Stephen Collins, said: “We are pleased to pass on these savings on award winning models such as the Accord Euro and Odyssey to our customers a month early.”

It’s worthwhile noting that Honda’s Thai-built models are ineligible for the duty decrease, due to the Free Trade Agreement between Australia and Thailand, and that Four wheel drive vehicles are currently subject to an import duty of five percent and will not receive any further reductions.

The duty savings are applicable from your Honda dealership from Tuesday December 1st 2009.
